ABOUT PEOPLE

Mr Sandy Matheson, FRPharmS, has been appointed chairman of Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd by the Scottish Executive. Mr Matheson will take up his post in March, 2001, and serve for three years. The company controls airports at Barra, Benbecula, Campbeltown, Inverness, Islay, Kirkwall, Stornoway, Sumburgh, Tiree and Wick. Mr Matheson is also chairman of Western Isles health board and Stornoway Pier and Harbour Commission. Mr Matheson lives in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis.
Miss Rupinder Flora was awarded the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's undergraduate science prize for the department of pharmacy, King's College London. Prizes for each school of pharmacy were created by the Society to reward achievement in the science content of the pharmacy course. The prizes consist of a cheque for £200 and a certificate (PJ, October 16, 1999, p631).
