than 25 words, and £7 for every additional 10 or fewer words. Payment (in the
form of personal cheques only, payable to “The Pharmaceutical Journal”) should
be forwarded with the notice, which should be authenticated by the name and
address of the sender, to the Editor, The Pharmaceutical Journal, 1 Lambeth
High Street, London SE1 7JN. Risks for the patient included adverse reactions,
short-term and long-term effects, a missed opportunity of a cure and death,
he said. The NHS had 100,000 outstanding claims for clinical negligence and
£2bn outstanding liabilities. Most claims had to be paid from individual trusts’
budgets but there was a clinical negligence scheme for trusts.
