The Profession

Bright future

From Mr A. G. M. Madge, FRPharmS

The omens seem good for the professional recognition of the standing of pharmacy in ministerial and government circles. Ministers have gone out of their way to emphasise the importance of pharmacy, and to recognise us as equal partners in the health team. The medical profession, pleading overwork and stress, no longer looks askance at pharmacists “stealing the cream” but realises the value gained in co-operation and collaboration for the benefit of the patient. There is much more to be done but the future is bright.

Mervyn Madge
Plymouth, Devon
