Virtual survey to evaluate pharmacy development groups'
success |
Virtual survey to evaluate pharmacy development groups' successThe Royal Pharmaceutical Society is inviting all pharmacists involved in pharmacy development groups to complete a virtual survey posted on the internet at www.virtualsurvey.co.uk/PDG/. The aim of the survey, says the Society, is to help provide an accurate picture of how the national PDG network is progressing. There are two surveys on the website. One is to be completed by all members of PDGs and the other should be completed only once for each group. The Society hopes that the surveys will elicit detailed information on PDGs, including their general composition and the activities they are currently involved in. The overall aim is to assess how the Society can better support the development of PDGs and the contribution of pharmacists to health care. PDG members are encouraged to complete the surveys on line. However, pharmacists with e-mail can obtain an electronic copy from the Society's professional development manager, Anne Adams, by e-mailing aadams@rpsgb.org.uk. If required, a paper copy can be obtained by telephoning or faxing Ms Adams on 0115 939 6465 or writing to her at 12 Pritchard Drive, Stapleford, Nottingham NG9 7GW. |
Annual review of the Council for 2000 publishedThe annual review for 2000 of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Council is being mailed with this week's issue. The review accompanies copies of The Journal sent to Society members but not to subscribers. The review, says the Society, focuses on the work undertaken over the past year in the areas of professional standards, regulation, education, practice and public affairs to help lead the profession forward. Also included with the review is a summary of the financial accounts and information relating to the Society's Council. A copy of the full accounts will be available at the annual geeral meeting, which is to be held at the Society's London headquarters on May 16 at 7.30pm. The full accounts will also be available from the Society's website. Alternatively, copies can be requested by telephoning the Society's finance department (tel 020 7735 9141). A recent change in the Society's Byelaws means that, for the first time, the review has been produced by staff in the Society's Public Affairs Directorate rather than by the The Pharmaceutical Journal. Addendum The Panel of Fellows has pointed out that Professor Saul Jonathan Benjamin Tendler was made a fellow of the Society under Byelaw III (3) last year. Unfortunately, this was omitted from the annual report. |
