Leitch In a tribute to the late David Edwin Leitch (PJ, April 28, p597), Mr ALAN H. SCREEN (chairman of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Powys branch) writes: The death of David Leitch has been a loss to pharmacy in this sparsely populated part of Wales. His range of knowledge, influence and contacts was extensive and he was always willing and able to pass on his wisdom, when needed. David had been chairman of the Powys branch on a number of occasions, and it was my privilege to succeed him in 1992. It is an indication of the level of generosity and sincerity which he had, that he was willing to support me in my role as my vice-chairman until his death. His attention to detail and his clear understanding and articulation of the most complex pharmaceutical legislation was amazing. He and I both attended the same grammar school, Newport High, and I have never encountered anyone who more enthusiastically pursued the school motto, “Nid da lle gellir gwell”, which translates freely as “Nothing is good if better is possible”. Bryson Recently, Stuart Hunter Bryson, MRPharmS, of “Falside”, 67 Alexandra Parade, Dunoon, Argyll PA23 8AQ. Mr Bryson registered in 1950. Devereux On March 4, Cecil Devereux, MRPharmS, of 8 Silver End, Olney, Buckinghamshire MK46 4AL. Fewster On April 1, Raymond John Fewster, of 12 Abbenesse, Chalford Hill, Stroud, Gloucestershire. Mr Fewster registered in 1935 and retired from the register in 1977. Gaimster On February 9, Kenneth Gaimster, FRPharmS, of “Leez House”, 15 Horse & Groom Lane, Galleywood, Chelmsford, Essex. Mr Gaimster registered in 1943. Glass Recently, Aubrey Glass, MRPharmS, of 1 Oakwell Mansions, Oakwell Drive, Bury Old Road, Salford, Lancashire. Mr Glass registered in 1949. Harrison On April 5, William Hubert Harrison, MRPharmS, of 32 Fawley Road, Liverpool L18 9TF. Mr Harrison registered in 1935. Hill On January 17, John Penryn Hill, of 99 Windsor Court, Tong Dean lane, Brighton. Mr Hill registered in 1937 and retired from the register in 1981. Holloway On February 5, Mary Alexandra Juanita Martha Holloway, of 13 Drakes Avenue, Exmouth Devon. Miss Holloway registered in 1933 and retired from the register in 1990. Perkins Recently, Norman Edgar Perkins, MRPharmS, of 34 Floriston Gardens, Ashley, New Milton, Hampshire BH25 5DL. Mr Perkins registered in 1941. Proctor On March 27, James Crawford Proctor, MRPharmS, of Argyle Lodge Nursing Home, 21 West Argyle Street, Helensburgh, Dumbartonshire G84 8XP. Mr Proctor registered in 1939. Tubb On April 4, Joan Mary Tubb, née Watling, MRPharmS, of Pharmacy, Newton Ferrers, Plymouth, Devon PL8 1AB. Mrs Tubb registered in 1946.
