Working conditions

Courage

From Mr N. Koria, MRPharmS

I really must write in support of those correspondents who have had the courage to bring to discussion the working conditions that community pharmacists have to put up with. As always there are those who deride their courage simply because they are subservient to their paymasters but it is good that the subject is brought up for discussion and thought, in the hope that many more pharmacists stop and reconsider their positions and their professionalism.

Maybe more pharmacists will start to question the multiple pharmacy companies, which, in my opinion, have done much to erode the position and working conditions of most community pharmacists by continually accepting low Government settlements without objection. This has the knock on effect of lower pay settlements and poorer working conditions.

Nitin Koria
Coventry
