Good service award made to Yorkshire pharmacy
VICE-PRESIDENT of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society,
Dr Gillian Hawksworth, and the staff of her pharmacy, have won a National
Health Service champion of the year award for the good service they provide
to the local community.
The award scheme was run by Calderdale and Kirklees
Health Authority, four local primary care trusts and two local trusts,
to coincide with NHS week (27 June to 5 July). According to Maureen Mellodew,
communications officer for the health authority, the aim of the awards
was to give members of the public a chance to say thank you to the dedicated
staff who work in the local health service. Nominations were made for
providing extra care and service.
Dr Hawksworth, proprietor of Old Bank Chemist at
Mirfield, West Yorkshire, told The Journal that she was delighted
with the award. We had many nominations from local people. It is lovely
for all the staff to have won an award and it recognises their hard work
as a team, she said.
