John Ferguson elected vice-president of EU liberal professions
body
John Ferguson, former Secretary and Registrar of the
Royal Pharmaceutical Society, has been elected senior vice-president and
chairman of the standing committee of CEPLIS (Conseil Européen des
Professions Liberales), the Brussels-based umbrella body that represents
the liberal professions at European Union level.
While Secretary and Registrar, Mr Ferguson was one
of the Societys two representatives on the UK Interprofessional Group,
which is a CEPLIS member organisation. After retirement, he continued
with the UKIPG as its representative on CEPLIS, Three years ago he was
elected to serve on the eight-member CEPLIS executive board.
The UKIPG is one of 10 national interprofessional
members of CEPLIS. There are also about 15 European “monoprofessional”
member organisations, including the Pharmaceutical Group of the EU.
