Election results in two changes on Welsh Executive

The annual election of four members to serve on the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Welsh Executive has resulted in two changes, with Mair Davies and Alan Screen replacing Professor Bryan Veitch and Peter Jenkins, both of whom decided not to seek re-election.

Dr David Temple and Dr Sarah Cockbill were both re-elected to serve for a further three years. The unsuccessful candidates in the election were Philip Callaghan Galt, Dr Michael Herepath, David Morgan and Ian Morgan.

Ms Davies is a postgraduate continuous professional development tutor for the Welsh Centre for Postgraduate Pharmaceutical Education and course director for the MSc degree in community pharmacy at the Welsh school of pharmacy. Mr Screen is the proprietor of a community pharmacy and the Marches Centre for Complementary Medicine in Bishop’s Castle.

Mr Jenkins decided to stand down from the executive after serving since its foundation in the mid-1970s. He was the executive’s first vice-chairman and second chairman. Professor Veitch decided to not to seek re-election after six years’ service. He was vice-chairman from 1998 to 1999.
