Society fills clinical governance pharmacist post
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has made an appointment
to the new post of clinical governance pharmacist.
The post has been filled by Catherine Dewsbury,
whose role will be to implement the recommendations contained in the Societys
policy on clinical governance, to further develop the support offered
to pharmacists by the Society and to play a part in implementing clinical
governance throughout pharmacy.
Ms Dewsbury has worked in both hospital and community
pharmacy practice but has most recently been a member of the staff of
the office of the chief pharmaceutical officer at the Department of Health.
There, as community care and public health pharmacist, she worked with
policy branches dealing with drug misuse, smoking cessation, reimbursement,
and health and social care issues. She was also part of the secretariat
to the review of the prescribing, supply and administration of medicines
(the Crown review).
