Pet medicines

Financial share

From Mr A. G. M. Madge, FRPharmS

Your comprehensive feature, “New opportunities in veterinary pharmacy” (PJ, 4 August), should be a great encouragement for the urban pharmacist, as well as those pharmacies in rural areas, to take the opportunity to develop this worthwhile branch of pharmacy. Not only does it represent extra business but it increases the professional image of the pharmacist as well.

For many years there has been growing evidence of the positive influence of companion animals on the physical and psychological well being of people. Here is an opportunity for pharmacists to have a financial and professional share of an expanding pet market.

Mervyn Madge
Plymouth,
Devon
