Lloydspharmacy health action day

Lloydspharmacy in Aylesbury recently held a health action day to raise awareness of first aid, diabetes, and heart disease.

A pharmacist provided advice for people with diabetes and coeliac disease, including healthy diet information. Free samples of gluten free foods and low sugar snacks were available. First aid demonstrations by the St John Ambulance, covering resuscitation for adults, babies and children were available, as well as advice on what do about cuts, burns and choking.

The British Heart Foundation also supported the event, providing information on the prevention of coronary heart disease and advice on how to reduce risk by eating healthily. Foundation workers also advised on living with heart disease, to ensure that those affected understand how to manage the condition to maximise their quality of life.
