InterventionsSoftware should be freeFrom Mr M. D. Bowyer, MRPharmS Zoë Gross is so right (PJ, 11 August, p188) when she says that appropriate computer software is lacking for recording interventions. I use a self-designed database in Lotus Approach. It is flexible, searchable and can be used to produce reports even anonymised reports. The software was every pharmacists favourite price free with a home computing magazine. Surely by now our pharmacy establishments know the needs of pharmacy? So, come on Royal Pharmaceutical Society and National Pharmaceutical Association! Surely it should be shareware. If it is free for members, then the chances are we will all use the same software. Compatibility is surely a criterion for local pharmaceutical committees to create pan-pharmacy reports when seeking funds from primary care groups and trusts. Mark Bowyer |
