Welsh office temporary arrangements

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has put in place temporary arrangements for handling the Society’s activities in Wales following the resignation of Erica Barrie, secretary of the Welsh Executive.

Because the Welsh Executive office in Cardiff is currently unmanned, all correspondence concerning Wales should until further notice be addressed to the Welsh Executive, Royal Pharmaceutical Society, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN (tel 020 7572 2202; fax 020 7793 1923; e-mail mcesar@rpsgb.org.uk).

While a permanent successor to Mrs Barrie is being sought, Colin Hitchings, FRPharmS, is to act as secretary to the Welsh Executive on a part-time basis. He begins on 17 September, following his return from the Singapore congress of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (of which he is professional secretary).

Further information will be published once the detailed arrangements for Mr Hitchings’s stewardship of the Society’s Welsh affairs have been finalised.
