New College of Pharmacy Practice chief executive
Ian Simpson, FRPharmS, former district pharmaceutical
officer for Oxfordshire, has been appointed chief executive of the College
of Pharmacy Practice. He starts working with the college on 12 November.
Mr Simpson has been a self-employed pharmaceutical
services consultant since 1991. He is currently pharmaceutical adviser
to Oxfordshire health authority and professional secretary for both the
Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists and the European Association of Hospital
Pharmacists.
Dr Angela Alexander, chairman of the governors of
the college, said that Mr Simpson would bring outstanding experience and
knowledge to the college and would be an admirable successor to Michael
Lucas, who left the college in August.
