Strategy will help us focus, says chairmanPharmacy will be able to focus on its way ahead once the strategy for pharmaceutical care in Scotland is published, Alison Strath, Chairman of the Royal Pharmaceutical Societys Scottish Executive, told the Conference. Ms Strath said that community pharmacists often did feel that they were not part of the National Health Service. She warned that a label in a window would only be of value to pharmacists if it represented a sign of real investment in the profession. She questioned the Scottish Health Minister, Susan Deacon, on why pharmacists did not already have a prescribing role, after all they had the training and knowledge for it. She urged the Minister to work with the profession to make pharmacist prescribing happen quickly. |
