CPP faculty of medicines management’s agenda

The College of Pharmacy Practice’s faculty of prescribing and medicines management (FPMM) has set out a plan of work, following its first board meeting on 14 September. The main parts of the work programme are:

  1. Setting out competencies necessary for prescribing and medicines management by pharmacists
  2. Setting up an assessment programme to allow pharmacists to attain membership or fellowship of the faculty
  3. Accrediting courses and training organisations
  4. Setting up a working group to consider the implications of pharmacist prescribing
  5. Developing corporate governance procedures for the FPMM and its board
  6. Arranging events and an annual general meeting

The meeting confirmed Clive Jackson as FPMM chairman, Peter Burrill as treasurer and Joe Asghar, Annie Coppel, Christine Macrae and Richard Seal as board members. Over 200 pharmacists have joined the faculty (PDF* 50K) since its launch (PJ, 16 June, p821–3).
