Pulmicort inhaler

AstraZeneca says that supply problems with its Pulmicort (budesonide) 200µg pressurised metered dose inhaler have been resolved following a change to the adaptor for the product. The new adaptor has a shiny surface with a white cap embossed with AstraZeneca. Stock levels are expected to return to normal over the coming weeks. Details from the company on 0800 783 0033.

Acupan injection

Acupan (nefopam hydrochloride) 20mg/ml injections (3M Health Care) are expected to be out of stock from the end of November to the end of March 2002 due to supply constraints. The company will be manually allocating stocks until they run out. Details from the company on 01509 613082.

Kolanticon gel

The 500ml packs of Kolanticon gel are expected to be out of stock until the second week of November (Peckforton Pharmaceuticals) due to production problems. The 200ml packs remain available. Details from the company on 01270 582255.

Discontinued products

Sulparex tablets

Sulparex (sulpiride) tablets are to be discontinued (Bristol-Myers Squibb) due to low and declining demand for the product. Stocks are expected to last until March 2002. Further information from Bristol-Myers Squibb on 0800 731 1736.

Suscard buccal tablets

Suscard (glyceryl trinitrate) 1mg prolonged release buccal tablets are being discontinued from 1 November (Forest Laboratories Europe) for commercial reasons. The 2mg, 3mg and 5mg tablets will remain available. Details from the company on 01322 550550.
