MCA checks its own standards
The Medicines Control Agency is currently reviewing
the standards of service it provides to the pharmaceutical industry.
Questionnaires are to be given to companies whenever
they apply to the agency for decisions in the areas under review. In particular,
the MCA is interested in finding out what pharmaceutical companies think
of its performance in terms of pre-submission advice before licensing
applications are made, how well it performs in the European centralised
licensing system, how well it deals with applications for mutual recognition
of marketing authorisations and the quality of its scientific advice.
The agency is looking for frank assessments of its
performance so that it can build on its strengths and polish any rough
edges.
