Pharmacy features again in NHS winter advice campaign

Community pharmacy is again at the centre of the National Health Service's winter advice advertising campaign. The campaign is repeating last year's theme of "Get the right treatment" and will run from 12 November to 31 January 2002.

Two of the campaign's main messages are that patients can treat many minor complaints themselves and that they can get free help and advice about this from their local pharmacy without the need to make an appointment.

Advertisements will appear in women's magazines and television listings guides. Generic posters for use in pharmacies can be ordered from the NHS response line on 08701 555 455.

In addition, pharmacies can order up to 500 free copies of the revised NHS Direct health care guide, now reprinted as the NHS Direct self-help guide, from the response line.
