Edinburgh registration ceremony for new members
A registration ceremony for new members of the Royal
Pharmaceutical Society took place at the Society's house in Edinburgh
on 24 October, hosted by Dr Gillian Hawksworth, the Society's Vice-President,
and Alison Strath, Chairman of the Society's Scottish Executive.
Welcoming the new pharmacists to the Society, Dr
Hawksworth commended their enthusiasm and vigour as vital to the future
of the profession. Miss Strath noted that this was an exciting time to
be entering the profession, especially with the imminent arrival of the
Scottish Executive Health Department's strategy for pharmaceutical care.
She encouraged the new members to play an active role in shaping the profession's
future.
After the ceremony, the new members and their guests
were treated to a buffet in the library and board room and had an opportunity
to talk to the Vice-President, the Society's Officers in Scotland and
members of the Scottish Executive.
