PPIsBeneficial blunderbussFrom Mr A. F. Huntley, MRPharmS Professor Hugh McGavock (PJ, 24 November, p742) suggests that proton pump inhibitors are a prescribing blunderbuss. However, for at least one patient long past three scores years and ten, eating a bland meal would usually result some two hours later in an episode of extreme oesophageal reflux but for the consumption some hours previously of a PPI.
