New appointments to CSM and Medicines Commission

Professor Peter Noyce, FRPharmS, professor of pharmacy practice at Manchester University, has been appointed to the Medicines Commission for a four-year term. Professor Noyce joins Professor Roger Walker, MRPharmS, who has been reappointed for four years.

Two pharmacists have also been appointed to the Committee on Safety of Medicines for three-year terms. They are Dr Terry Maguire, a community pharmacist from Belfast, and Professor David Thurston, professor of medicinal chemistry at the School of Pharmacy, London University. They join at the CSM Professor Alison Blenkinsopp and Dr Robert Calvert.

All the appointments are effective from 1 January 2002.
