Sunderland students benefit from bequestStudents at Sunderland University's school of pharmacy are benefiting from a legacy left to the university by the wife of an alumnus of the school. The money, left to the school by Anne Dawson, who died in March, has been used to build a model pharmacy, used to teach practical aspects of community pharmacy work and how to promote self-medication. Anne Dawson and her husband, John Dawson, ran pharmacies in Sunderland and South Shields before Mr Dawson's death in the early 1970s. He graduated from Sunderland's pharmacy department before the 1939–45 war. |
