Hospital staff set to get 3.6 per cent
Hospital pharmacists can expect pay rises well ahead
of inflation this year.
On the day that Secretary of State for Health Alan
Milburn announced a 3.6 per cent pay rise for nurses, midwives, health
visitors and allied health professionals, the Department of Health said
that the Government planned to offer broadly similar increases to staff
in non-pay review body groups, such as scientific, professional and technical
staff. The headline inflation rate is currently 0.9 per cent, with an
underlying rate of 1.8 per cent.
General practitioners are to get a 4.6 per cent
increase in fee income accompanied by the suspension of clawbacks of overpayments
in earlier years. General dental practitioners are to get a 3.6 per cent
increase.
