Renagel tablets

Renagel (sevelamer) 800mg tablets, pack size 180 have been launched (Genzyme); net price, £132.

Campral EC tablets

A 168-tablet pack of Campral EC (acamprosate calcium) 333mg tablets will be available from 1 February (Merck Pharmaceuticals); £28.92. (See below.)

Tranylcypromine tablets

Tranylcypromine 10mg tablets pack size 28 is being launched (Goldshield Pharmaceuticals); net price, £5.08.

Alpharma livery

The following products are now being supplied in the Alpharma livery:

• Amitriptyline 10mg and 25mg tablets, pack size 28

• Frusemide 20mg and 40mg tablets, pack size 28

• Isosorbide mononitrate 10mg and 20mg tablets, pack size 56

SPC changes

Oxis Turbohaler

Oxis (formoterol fumarate) Turbohaler 6 and Oxis Turbohaler 12 is now licensed for use in children aged six years and older. The recommended dose is 12µg once or twice daily. Maximum dose is 24µg daily.

Discontinued products

Prazosin tablets

Prazosin 0.5mg, 1mg, 2mg and 5mg tablets, in pack sizes of 56, have been discontinued (Alpharma).

Campral EC tablets

The 84-tablet pack size of Campral EC (acamprosate calcium) 333mg tablets is being discontinued from 1 February (Merck Pharmaceuticals).

Supply problems

Rivotril ampoules

Rivotril (clonazepam) 1mg amp-oules are now back in stock (Roche Products).

Nitrofurantoin suspension

Nitrofurantoin 25mg/5ml suspension, pack size 300ml, is currently unavailable but should be back in stock from 1 February (Goldshield Pharmaceuticals).
