Moss boosts health promotion with NHS Scotland moneyMoss Pharmacy is to use over £100,000 it has received from the National Health Service in Scotland to increase its health promotion activities at a branch in Dundee. Tricia Kennerley, superindentent pharmacist at Moss, explained that £90,000 was received as part of the scheme for modernising pharmacy premises, launched last month under the Scottish pharmaceutical care strategy (PJ, 9 February, p161). This would be used to refurbish Moss's Albert Street branch, which is situated in a deprived area of the city. "The refurbishment will be similar to our Total Health format used in England [PJ, 18 August 2001, p219]. It will include a conference room for use by district nurses, midwives and health visitors and two patient counselling rooms." A further £10,500 will be used to establish a health promotion area within the store. A health promotion manager has been employed to run this service. |
