TributeEvans In a tribute to the late Marion Elizabeth Evans, née Wilson, GORDON DYKES writes: Marion Wilson was one of the most enthusiastic pharmacists I have ever met. Her willingness to participate in the development of the profession made her an excellent role model for the younger pharmacists she came into contact with. However, there was much more to her than her professional life. Music was a passion she inherited from her father, a skilled pianist. She practised the piano and cornet regularly, although she never played in public. She was a keen mountaineer and member of the Glasgow Glenmore Club. Marion spent her last day in Glencoe, on the Scottish mountains she loved. Last year, her daughter Kirsty became the centre of her world. Although she only knew Kirsty for eight months they were already the best of friends. To see both their faces light up in each other's company was a privilege. I was able to see her playing with Kirsty in the Kingshouse Hotel in Glencoe just before the car crash. She blew raspberries on Kirsty, tickled her and gently tossed her in the air. It is a pleasure to remember her that way. ANNE and DOUGLAS EADIE write: There are many moments in which we can remember Marion's zest for life, her determination and her wicked sense of humour. Marion was a true, loyal friend whom we met 14 years ago, when a group of us banded together. Friends that will last a lifetime. Recently, Anne and Marion helped each other through the ups and downs of motherhood. In her short time as a mother she showed devotion, commitment and endless love for her baby Kirsty. Marion had a huge heart, full of love to give. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Whittle Further to the announcement of the death of Stephen John Whittle (PJ, 30 June 2001, p886), KEVIN WHITTLE writes: As Stephen's brother I am sure I can speak for all his family when I say thank you for all the messages of sympathy and condolence that were received at what was a traumatic and sad time. May I also thank the many people who gave support and donations, which were greatly appreciated by Jackie and her three sons. We are all very proud of Stephen and his achievements, and knowing that he was regarded highly by so many people only serves to reinforce those feelings. |
