PCTs advised to look at making better use of community pharmacyPrimary care trusts in England are being asked to consider how community pharmacists' contribution to the National Health Service can help to achieve targets set out in the NHS plan. A new advisory document produced by the Department of Health, "Achieving and sustaining improved access to primary care", says that, in allocating their primary care access funding, PCTs "should also consider how best to use and/or extend the contribution of other services available to them". The document can be accessed from the primary care section of the DoH website (www.doh.gov.uk/pricare). |
