Moss wins English prison contract

Moss Pharmacy has won its first contract to supply pharmaceutical services to a prison in England. A one-year contract with HM Prison Hull will start in April.

Pharmaceutical products will be supplied from Moss's branch at Orchard Park, Hull. Clinical services will be provided by weekly visits from a pharmacist and a technician. The prison currently holds around 600 male prisoners, mainly aged between 18 and 25 years. This is expected to increase to around 1,000 inmates by the end of the year.

Moss already supplies pharmaceutical services to 16 prisons run by the Scottish Prison Service.

The Pharmaceutical Journal will be featuring the work of pharmacists in prisons next week.
