SSL sells 21 brands for £13.5m

SSL International has sold the rights to 21 non-prescription medicines to Thornton & Ross for £13.5m. SSL will make a loss of £22m on the deal after accounting for goodwill.

The products involved are

  5. Dermidex
  6. Ellimans Embrocation
  7. Eucryl
  8. Fenox
  9. Gastrocote
  10. Goddards Embrocation
  11. J Collis Browne
  12. Lloyds Cream
  13. Morhulin
  14. Mycota
  15. Orovite
  16. Pripsen
  17. Relaxyl
  18. Sominex
  19. Transvasin
  20. Virasorb
  21. Yeastvite

Manufacturing equipment at SSL factories in Guernsey and Peterlee and current stocks worth £600,000 are included in the deal. SSL said that the brands, which had sales of £8.6m last year, represented only 15 per cent of its non-prescription sales.
