Another life member come to lightA second surviving life member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has come to light after we said in a news item last week (p411) that the death of Reg Davis, at the age of 100, had left Isabella Keiller, of Perth, Scotland, as the sole life member. Having read the news item, Eileen Brown, of Pembury, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, has written to say that she also is a life member. Mrs Brown joined the Society in 1928. The Society stopped offering life membership when the Pharmacy and Poisons Act 1933 came into force and required all pharmacists to be members and to pay an annual retention fee. |
