Society summary

New issue of Industrial Pharmacist

The latest issue of The Industrial Pharmacist, the journal of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Industrial Pharmacists Group, is now available. Its content includes feature articles on online patient information, self-validation of chromatographic systems, counterfeit active pharmaceutical ingredients, and the impact of automated pharmacy dispensing on the pharmaceutical industry. It also contains a company profile of GSK Consumer Healthcare, an analysis of the response to a questionnaire for qualified persons and an article on the ramifications of complex United States Food and Drug Administration requirements affecting laboratory and manufacturing operations. Regular features include the IPG chairman's review (by Mel Smith), a "Sharp Comments" commentary by John Sharp, a book review, letters to the editor and details of future events.

The quarterly journal is provided free to IPG members, but copies of this issue are also being sent free to members of the Pharmaceutical Quality Group or the Joint Pharmaceutical Analysis Group. According to the chairman's review, the group committee feels that the information contained in the journal should be available to all in the pharmaceutical industry and hopes that the 2,000 extra recipients will consider becoming subscribers.

The annual subscription rates for members of the Society other than IPG members and for qualified persons are: UK £25, Europe £32, rest of world £44. For non-members the rates are: UK £75, Europe £82, RoW £87. Subscription enquiries should be addressed to Euromed Communications Ltd (tel 01428 656665; fax 01428 656643; e-mail subs@euromed.uk.com).
