Control of entryMore outlets, not cheap medicinesFrom Mr M. D. Bowyer, MRPharmS ASDA hypothesises that the removal of the control of entry will benefit
the consumer by reducing the price of medicines (PJ, 9 March, p317). Surely
the true value to the consumer would be that there would be more pharmacies
able to deliver advice on how to get the best from medicines, rather than
more retail outlets selling them cheap. Has anyone looked into whether
drug related harm increases when the retail price of medicines fall? Mark Bowyer |
