Reading is an essential element

From Mr P. Jenkins, FRPharmS

Alan Nathan (PJ, 20 April, p536) demonstrates an essential element for any studying, and that is to read the text as written. In my letter (PJ, 6 April, p465), which he criticises, I wrote "those who attend events on almost any subject ... must not be held up as best practice." "Not" is the defining word. So, really, Mr Nathan agrees with me in all the points I raised.

I wish I had his faith in the proposed Royal Pharmaceutical Society scheme. When it is explained to us we may be pleasantly surprised. But we will all have to read it carefully to really grasp it.

Peter Jenkins
Abercynon, South Wales
