Peptide protects against malaria

A peptide, derG, has been found to provide 100 per cent protection against malaria infection in a mouse model. Researchers from the Naval Medical Research Centre, Maryland, administered two doses of derG, two weeks apart. They say that results obtained are thought to apply to humans. Data were presented at the Experimental Biology 2002 meeting held in New Orleans.
