Ian Phillips retires from Welsh Executive after 15 years' serviceIan Phillips has decided to stand down from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Welsh Executive after a total of 15 years' service. Mr Phillips, a proprietor pharmacist from Cardiff, registered as a pharmacist in 1962 and was first elected to the Welsh Executive in 1983. He served as chairman of the executive for two years from 1986 to 1988. In 1995, after completing his fourth three-year term of office on the executive, Mr Phillips chose not to seek re-election, but he subsequently stood again successfully in 1999. Before joining the Welsh Executive, Mr Phillips had a history of service to the Society's Cardiff and South Glamorgan branch. He was branch secretary from 1971 to 1972 and then was appointed vice-chairman for 1972–73, chairman for 1973–74 and then treasurer from 1974 to 1981. Over the years he has also had many other roles in pharmacy in Wales, including the chairmanship of the Welsh Committee for Postgraduate Pharmaceutical Education and the Welsh Central Pharmaceutical Committee.
