Society hosts multidisciplinary meeting on antibiotic resistance

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society is jointly organising a multidisciplinary meeting on tackling the problems of antibiotic resistance, which it will host at its headquarters building on 8 and 9 July. The symposium will examine the scale of the resistance problem, novel strategies, the clinical challenges, prescribing practices, and national and international implications.

The aim of the meeting is to bring together a broad range of health professionals and biomedical scientists to assess the phenomenon and ascertain the prospects for anti-infectives. Participants are expected to include physicians, pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists, molecular biologists, microbiologists and veterinary practitioners.

The principal organisers of the event are the Society and the Institute of Biology, with support from a range of other organisations, Government bodies and pharmaceutical companies.
