Bath to pull the plug? The Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Bath branch may close if it fails to attract sufficient interest at its annual general meeting next week. The branch has held no meetings in the past year because it was unable to form a committee at its last AGM. Next week's meeting has been organised by a caretaker triumvirate of Helena Hodges (chairman), Dr Philip Rogers (treasurer) and Colleen Abbot (secretary), who hope there will be enough support to form a new committee. The AGM takes place on 23 May at 8pm at the University of Bath (Building 8W), preceded by a buffet from 7 to 7.30pm. The main item on the agenda will be the future of the branch, but the organisers also hope to hold a discussion on training for pharmacists as supplementary prescribers. Branch members unable to attend the meeting are asked to indicate their support for the branch by contacting Mrs Hodges by e-mail at prshah@bath.ac.uk. |
