Disease mongering

Jeopardises the nation’s health

From J. Benouaich, MRPharmS

In my view, the only way to counteract "disease mongering" (PJ, 20 April, p527) is by increasing public awareness of preventative medicine.

In France there are surgeries that deal solely with preventative medicine. People go there to get vaccinations, information and preventative treatments for various conditions.

Disease mongering should be outlawed, it is simply cheating the public for the sake of business and jeopardises the nation's health.

Jacob Benouaich
Manchester
