Napp cuts MST prices by 15 pcNAPP Pharmaceuticals has cut the price of its MST Continus (morphine sulphate) controlled release tablets in the community by 15 per cent with effect from 20 May 2002. The cuts follow an unsuccessful appeal against a ruling by the Office of Fair Trading that Napp had abused its dominant market position (PJ, April 7, 2001 p449). Napp was fined £3.21m for its actions, later reduced to £2.2m on appeal (PJ, 19 January, p45). Napp will also have to renegotiate discounts offered on hospital contracts, which the OFT had found could be as high as 90 per cent. |
