Scottish Conservatives told of pharmacists' work

Participants in the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party conference, held in Perth last week, were told about pharmacists' work by representatives of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in Scotland and the Scottish Pharmaceutical General Council.

Scottish Conservative party leader David McLetchie (Member of the Scottish Parliament, Lothians) had his blood pressure checked by Paul Nightingale, a member of the SPGC before having a 10-minute conversation with the Society's Deputy Scottish Secretary Findlay Hickey and colleagues Harry McQuillan and Ian Duncan. The Society's team also had a 40-minute meeting with the Tories' health and community care spokeswoman Mary Scanlon (MSP, Highlands and Islands). The conference included fringe meetings on yellow card reporting, generic prescribing and repeat prescriptions.
