Leaflet highlights primary care role

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has produced a briefing paper highlighting pharmacists' role in primary care. The leaflet is targeted at primary care trusts, social services departments and care trusts. It highlights the role pharmacists can play in priority areas for modern service delivery.

The leaflet was one of many available at a pharmacy stand mounted by the Society, the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee and the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education at the NHS Confederation conference in Harrogate this week.

The briefing has a foreword by the National Director of Primary Care, Dr David Colin-Thomé, who underlines the importance of making the most of pharmacist resources in the delivery of primary care and commends the leaflet to all those responsible for planning local services.
