Branch Representatives' meeting summary

No need seen for (register) retirement provision

The meeting rejected a motion from the Brighton and Hove branch seeking a provision for pharmacists to "retire" from the Register when they no longer wished to practise, rather than being removed for non-payment of their retention fee.

Opposing the motion, ROGER MILLS (Slough) said a perfectly acceptable means for pharmacists to take their names off the Register had been spelt out in the Council's explanatory note to the motion (PJ, 20 April, p550).
