Branch and regional committee members recognised for long serviceNineteen long-serving members of Royal Pharmaceutical Society branch and regional committees have been presented with certificates recognising the service they have given in their local area. Under a scheme introduced in October 2001, members must have served at least 15 years on the branch or regional committee to be nominated for a certificate by their committee. The certificates are signed by the President of the Society and are normally presented at a meeting of the branch or region. The Society introduced the certificate scheme in response to a resolution of the 2000 branch representatives' meeting. The meeting endorsed a motion from the Oxfordshire branch requesting that recognition be given in the new millennium to those members of the Society's branches who have given dedicated service over many years. Since their introduction, certificates recognising long service on branch committees have been presented to Mary Honnor (Barnet), Joan Limb (Blackpool), Jennifer Cuthbert (Bradford), Alison Fewtrell (Bury and Rochdale), Colin Ranshaw (Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan), Barbara Maude (Coventry and Warwickshire), Gwendoline Yarham (Croydon), Barry Wilson (Derby), Annette Morant (Harrow and Hillingdon), Michael Brandon (Ipswich), Michael Burden (Leicestershire and Rutland), Dr Geoffrey Benson (Manchester, Salford and Trafford), Joseph Proctor (Preston), William Brookes (South Cheshire) and John Byers (Sunderland). Certificates for long service on regional committees have been awarded to William Darling (Border), Peter Clark (Mersey), Dr Roy Daisley (South East England) and Dr Peter Linley (Yorkshire). |
