Two well-known pharmacists die

Joe Wright, a former director of the National Pharmaceutical Association, and Graeme Le Quesne, a past-chairman of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Jersey branch, both died earlier this month.

Mr Wright was director of the NPA from 1971 to 1981, having joined the staff of the then National Pharmaceutical Union in 1948, becoming secretary in 1961 (see p84).

Mr Le Quesne was killed on 3 July when the light aircraft he was piloting crashed in Portugal. He ran a community pharmacy in Jersey and was involved in numerous local voluntary and aviation groups. He was secretary of the Society's Jersey branch from 1970–75 and chairman from 1975–85 and was involved in organising the 1986 British Pharmaceutical Conference in Jersey.
