Tranquilyn (methylphenidate hydrochloride) tablets, pack size 30, have been launched (Link Pharmaceuticals); net price, 5mg £2.78, 10mg £4.99, 20mg £9.98.

Ciprofloxacin tablets

Ciprofloxacin tablets have been launched (APS/Berk); net price 250mg 10 £7 20 £14, 500mg 10 £13.25 20 £26.50, 750mg 10 £16.67.

Counter medicines

Ovran 30 tablets

Ovran 30 (levonorgestrel 250µg, ethinylestradiol 30µg) tablets have been discontinued, with immediate effect (Wyeth Pharmaceuticals).

Hydergine tablets

Hydergine (co-dergocrine mesilate) 4.5mg tablets have been discontinued (Novartis Pharmaceuticals UK). The 1.5mg tablets remain available.

Vitamin A injection

Vitamin A palmitate 100,000iu/ml injection, pack size 10x2ml ampoules, is to be discontinued when remaining stock expires at the end of July (Cambridge Laboratories).
