Sale of Pharmaceutical Press books for practising pharmacistsThe Pharmaceutical Press the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's publishing division is having a "summer sale" of books of interest to practising pharmacists. Ten books will be available at reduced prices until about the end of August. The biggest price reduction is on the 2002 edition of the Medicines Compendium (formerly published as the ABPI Compendium of Data Sheets and Summaries of Product Characteristics), which has been almost halved in price from £95 to £47.95. The other offers include an introductory discount on the second edition of 'Handbook of pharmacy healthcare: diseases and patient advice' by Robin J. Harman and Pamela Mason, which is to be published in August. During the sale it can be bought for £33.95 instead of the list price of £39.95. Two other books by Robin Harman are also reduced for the summer. They are 'Patient care in community practice: a handbook of non-medicinal healthcare' (second edition), reduced by £3 to £21.95, and 'Handbook of pharmacy health education' (second edition), reduced by £8 to £26.95. Pamela Mason's 'Locum pharmacy: a survival guide' is reduced by £2 to £7.95. The new third edition of 'Pharmacy practice' by Patricia Stone and Stephen J. Curtis', which is to be published in August, is on offer at £25.95, a £4 reduction on its list price. Also in the sale are 'Non-prescription medicines'' by Alan Nathan (second edition), down £3 to £21.95, 'Hypertension in focus' by Susan Shankie, down £6 to £18.95, 'Drugs of abuse' by Simon Wills, down £5 to £14.95, and 'Zoonoses' by Martin Shakespeare, down £5 to £24.95.
