Potential for error exists

From Mr D. R. Kaye, MRPharmS

I note that the long-acting Lantus insulin has been launched in the United Kingdom (PJ, 10 August, p189). All pharmacists should be aware of the potential for confusion with insulin lente, especially with hand-written prescriptions.

The Institute for Safe Medication Practice has reported two cases of errors in the United States associated with Lantus and lente being confused.
