Automatic prescription endorsement

Pharmacists are advised to exercise caution in the use of automatic prescription endorsing systems. Pharmacists must ensure that each endorsement is accurate and that the pack sizes and quantities endorsed accurately reflect the medication supplied. Endorsing systems may sometimes default to the smallest pack available, which may not be the pack size dispensed.

A pharmacist who submits a claim for prescriptions is responsible for the accuracy of the endorsements. Inaccurate endorsements may constitute a fraudulent claim.
